4th of July North Myrtle Beach Fireworks Spots

With the 4th of July comes fireworks. One great thing about spending the 4th in North Myrtle Beach is the fireworks. You can choose from two shows happening on the same night!

Fireworks at Cherry Grove Pier

Cherry Grove Pier North Myrtle Beach

Head over to one of the most iconic spots in all of North Myrtle Beach for a fun, free fireworks show organized by the city! The display will last about 30 minutes, starting at 9:30 PM, and those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. If you’re going to be in this area, remember that 3500 North Ocean Boulevard, as well as 300 feet of the beach on both sides of the pier, will be blocked off.  If you plan to attend, we suggest walking from a nearby business or restaurant.

Barefoot Landing Fireworks Show

Barefoot Landing will host its own fireworks show at 10 PM; however, watchers are encouraged to arrive as early as possible to claim a spot on the lawn, bridge, or sidewalk. If you arrive early, enjoy a celebration at LuLu’s nearby, starting at 5 PM. You can also grab a bite from Barefoot Landing staples like Crooked Hammock. LandShark Bar & Grill is another nearby option before the fireworks. After dinner, head out to watch the fireworks over the lake.

Other Summer Events on the Grand Strand

While a fireworks show and celebration are typically the centerpiece to any 4th of July experience, the great thing about North Myrtle Beach is that the celebration doesn’t begin and end in just one night. Here are a couple of other events happening during the mid-summer here on the Grand Strand that you can enjoy during your 4th of July North Myrtle Beach trip.

Music on Main Summer Concert Series

Dance the summer nights away at the Horseshoe on Main Street! Every Thursday night from June to September, the city invites a different musical guest. Music genres range from beach music, R&B, rock, and country. If you’re in town for the 4th of July, the closest date will be on July 2, featuring a set from The Entertainers.

Red, White & Blue 5K at Barefoot Landing

Going strong for 8 years, get a good holiday workout in with this fun run and walk. The event offers several races, including the 5K Run, Uncle Sam’s 1 Mile Walk, and the free Stars and Stripes Kids’ Dash, so the whole family can participate. If you want to participate, you’re encouraged to wear red, white, or blue to fit the event’s theme. If you’re interested in competing, you must register online.

Conway RiverFest

While this event is a bit of a drive from North Myrtle Beach, it’s well worth it! Conway Riverfest takes place in Downtown Conway, about 35 to 45 minutes from North Myrtle Beach, making this a fun day trip for families looking to explore. The festival takes place on June 27, so it won’t crash into your holiday plans. Bring the family down to Conway for live music, paddleboard races, food vendors, and a beer garden. Then, end the night with a stunning fireworks show.

Family Vacation Tips for the 4th of July in North Myrtle Beach

Mid-summer is one of the most exciting times to visit North Myrtle Beach, especially for families planning a trip around the Fourth of July. Between beach days, fireworks, local events, and family-friendly attractions, there’s plenty to enjoy during peak season. The key is to plan so you can spend less time stressing and more time enjoying the coast.

Try to build your days around a mix of outdoor fun and easy downtime. Spend mornings at the beach before the heat and crowds, then save afternoons for the pool, arcade, shopping, or indoor attractions. Evenings are a great time to head out for dinner, take a walk along Main Street, or find a good spot to watch fireworks.

Beat the Coastal Traffic

Summer is typically the busiest time for North Myrtle Beach, and traffic can be especially heavy around the Fourth of July. To make the most of your trip, plan to leave early for the beach, restaurants, or local attractions, especially on key dates like the 4th. It also helps to plan your days around activities close to the resort so you don’t get stuck in traffic. Ocean Drive Beach & Golf Resort’s location on Main Street makes this even easier. We invite you to explore some of the best sites in North Myrtle Beach without going too far.

Escape the Heat

Summer sun heat

July in North Myrtle Beach brings plenty of heat and sunshine, so it’s smart to plan a few ways to cool off during the hottest parts of the day. Beach mornings and evening strolls are great, but afternoons are perfect for indoor attractions, resort amenities, and shaded activities. Take a break from the sun and enjoy arcade games at the resort or take a time back at our pool, which features a whirlpool and lazy river. Waterparks and splash-friendly attractions are also great options when everyone still wants to play outside without fully melting in the coastal sun.
