Halloween Celebrations in North Myrtle Beach
Enjoy a wide range of family-friendly activities, such as trick-or-treating and costume contests, in the crisp fall air.
Halloween BOOnanza
Event date: October 24th from 5-8pm
Get ready for a spooktacular evening at North Myrtle Beach’s Halloween BOOnanza! The North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex transforms into a Halloween wonderland for this family-friendly event, organized by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with Coastal Carolina University’s Leadership class. This event offers a variety of activities, including magic shows, marshmallow roasting, games, inflatables, and trick-or-treating on October 24 from 5 to 8 pm. Admission is $5 for ages 3 and up, free for younger children.
Boofest! Kids and Pets Costume Contests
Event date: October 24th
Barefoot Landing is the place to be if you’re looking for Halloween fun! Over at the Dockside Village Stage, also on October 24, we’re conjuring up a cauldron of fun with Boofest! costume contest for pets and kids! Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third-best costumes in each category. Between contests, you can witness an insane fire show, an uplifting balloon show, and more. Later in the day, you can bring the family to the Dockside Village to enjoy a free showing of Hocus Pocus, a Halloween classic!
Trick or Treating at Barefoot Landing
Event date: October 31st
Barefoot Landing is the biggest shopping and entertainment hub in North Myrtle Beach. Each October, you’ll find this complex transformed into a Halloween dream offering exciting trick-or-treating experiences for families. Dress your family in your finest Halloween costumes and grab your candy buckets to head out along the Intercoastal Waterway. This event typically takes place right on Halloween. Flavors of Fall
Event date: November 7th from 11am – 3pm
The Flavors of Fall festival is a celebration of delicious fall favorite recipes from local restaurants in North Myrtle Beach. This is a family-friendly event, but for the adults, you’re welcome to upgrade your flavorful exploration to taste fall-flavored alcoholic beverages along Main Street! Flavors of Fall is like its own delicious scavenger hunt where you’ll be equipped with a tasting map, check-in treat bag, and more! You can register starting on October 6 and later, meet at Flynn’s Irish Tavern parking lot on November 7 to check in and grab your items. Happy hunting!
Little River Shrimp Festival
Event date: October 10th and 11th
The Little River Shrimp Festival returns for another year! The historic Little River Waterfront hosts an exciting tradition full of live music, balloon artists, stilt walkers, and more. Enjoy the fall weather as you connect with locals, exploring local craft vendors, and listening in on various business expos. Learn about local community organizations over fresh, local seafood dishes prepared by local waterfront restaurants in Little River. The Little River ShrimpFest is fun for the whole family and a fall-favorite activity in South Carolina!
SOS Fall Migration
Event dates: September 18th – 27th
Dance the final days of summer away during the SOS Fall Migration, found throughout North Myrtle Beach’s Ocean Drive district! This 10-day celebration honors the state’s official dance, the Carolina Shag, with live beach music, dance lessons, club parties, and evenings at legendary local venues such as Fat Harold’s Beach Club and the Spanish Galleon. Whether you are an experienced shagger or simply want to experience a North Myrtle Beach tradition, Fall Migration, taking place from September 18 to 27, offers plenty of opportunities to join the party and celebrate the local culture of the Carolinas.
Irish Italian Festival
Event date: September 26th
On September 26th, head down to Main Street for a celebration of two vibrant cultures! The Irish Italian Festival invites craft vendors, street performers, and over 10,000 guests for a free event featuring live entertainment, cultural cuisine, and more. While you’re here, watch or take part in the spaghetti-eating contest, where participants race to clear plates without using their hands.
